Recognition at the German SME Summit Coincides with the Company’s 25th Anniversary
Berlin/Heidelberg – ehotel AG has been recognised as one of Germany’s TOP 100 Innovators for the tenth consecutive year. In the independent scientific assessment, the Berlin-based company secured third place in the Innovation Success category within Size Class B (51 to 200 employees in Germany). The award was presented at the German SME Summit in Heidelberg on 26 June. Christian Wulff, former President of Germany and mentor of the TOP 100 competition, honoured this year’s award-winning companies.
The recognition comes in a particularly significant year for ehotel AG, as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026.
The tenth consecutive TOP 100 award recognises a trajectory that extends far beyond traditional hotel booking. In its 25th anniversary year, ehotel AG represents the continuous development of digital solutions for business travel management, procurement, billing and compliance.
Today, corporate travel programmes face increasing demands in areas such as compliance, cost control, sustainability reporting and international invoicing. At the same time, organisations require integrated digital solutions that connect travel, procurement and finance processes across the business.
In the independent scientific assessment, ehotel was recognised in particular for innovations that support organisations in managing increasingly complex corporate travel programmes. These include digital solutions for centralised hotel billing, standardised electronic invoicing processes and data-driven hotel procurement. With its RFP Tool, ehotel digitalises hotel sourcing processes, enabling organisations to evaluate supplier proposals using actual booking and rate data. These capabilities are complemented by the integration of booking, payment and compliance processes into existing corporate systems.
The TOP 100 company profile published to accompany the award highlights, in particular, the continued development of ehotel’s central billing capabilities. To support this, the company has established its own infrastructure to standardise international billing processes, accommodate country-specific requirements and enable the seamless digital processing of financial data within corporate finance systems.
“Standardised electronic invoicing and the continued development of our central billing capabilities represent a fundamental structural evolution of our business,” said Fritz Zerweck, Chief Executive Officer of ehotel AG.
Alongside billing, the strategic management of hotel programmes is becoming increasingly important. Organisations are expected to evaluate pricing trends, sustainability requirements and compliance obligations using reliable data. Digital sourcing and analytics processes provide the foundation for these decisions.
“We consolidate invoices from around two million accommodation providers worldwide, standardise differing national requirements and enrich them with the billing and controlling information organisations need, such as cost centres and employee IDs. This makes the invoicing process digital, auditable and significantly more efficient for our customers,” said Zerweck.
The platform’s continuous development is also reflected in the company’s growth. In 2025, the Financial Times and Statista included ehotel AG in their list of Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies. The company also continues to invest in AI-powered META-SEARCH technologies, digital procurement processes, sustainability capabilities, and the integration of business travel and finance processes.
