ehotel® honoured for the ninth time as a TOP 100 innovator at the 2025 German SME Summit

Berlin, 30 June 2025 – On Friday, 27 June 2025, ehotel AG was officially honoured with the TOP 100 seal 2025 during the German SME Summit held in Mainz. The award ceremony, which recognises Germany’s most innovative medium-sized enterprises, was hosted by renowned science journalist and long-time TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar, who personally congratulated ehotel® on its repeated success. This is the ninth time that the Berlin-based company has been named among the top 100 innovators in the German SME sector, marking a significant milestone in ehotel®’s 25th anniversary year.

ehotel® stood out particularly in the ‘Innovation Success’ category in size category B (51 to 200 employees in Germany) in the scientifically validated selection process. The company provides an all-encompassing, technology-driven solution for business travel bookings that automates processes, supports policy compliance and actively integrates sustainability goals.

“In the business travel sector, innovation is successful when it reduces complexity, automates processes and incorporates ESG goals,” says Fritz Zerweck, CEO of ehotel AG. “Being recognised once again as a TOP 100 innovator confirms that our approach meets exactly these demands – practical, technology-driven and developed in close dialogue with our customers.”

Structured innovation processes for sustainable success

ehotel®’s innovation strategy combines technological advancement with sustainable business practices.

The platform integrates intelligent meta-search, booking, centralised billing, reporting, and features relevant to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into a single system. As a result, companies benefit from automated workflows, digital receipt data, accurate tax reporting and centralised control, all without any disruption to the system or the need for manual intervention.

A key feature is the company’s proprietary sustainability tool, which clearly shows the carbon footprint of booked hotels and incorporates this information into the travel decision-making process. This is further supported by filters for sustainable accommodation and hotels with EV charging stations, helping to create a more climate-conscious corporate travel culture.

Innovation as part of company culture

At ehotel®, innovation is at the heart of our culture. Around 70% of employees regularly contribute ideas, which are further developed through structured workshops or weekly ‘Learning Corner’ sessions. These interdisciplinary formats result in practical solutions, such as booking assistants for standard requests, automated invoicing processes and new functionalities within the customer portal.

25 years of innovation!

In 2025, ehotel® will celebrate its 25th anniversary, marking a journey defined by continuous development, strong customer relationships and a willingness to challenge the status quo. The company has established itself as a trusted partner for corporate clients in dynamic market environments, both in Germany and internationally.

“What makes me particularly proud is how we’ve grown over the past 25 years – not through big headlines, but through steady progress, close customer relationships, and the courage to forge our own path,” says Fritz Zerweck. “Our innovations don’t come from an ivory tower, but are driven by real needs – often directly by the commitment of our employees.”
